Helpful Hints

• The number of iterations used for scalar equations (equations other than the pressure-correction equation) should not generally exceed 5 or 10. Anything above that does not provide useful performance and wastes computation.

• The maximum number of iterations for the pressure-correction equation should generally be 20, or perhaps 50. Anything over 100 also wastes computation.

• Very small time steps combined with low relaxation factors can be unstable. Usually, a smaller time step permits larger relaxation-factor values.
